2/27/2024 0 Comments Kindle oasis 2021 vs paperwhite![]() USB C is a big deal for me, as I find using Micro-USB to be more and more of a chore as time goes on. Oasis forces a different hold, one that is completely unique from anything I have ever used before. ![]() The form factor on the Paperwhite is more familiar, and lends itself better to be protected with a case. The screen sizes are comparable, and at first glance I felt like the Paperwhite's screen was better with regards to size. Flat out I think the Paperwhite is the better buy. You will not believe the difference between a new PW and your current model. For me the £100 difference between the oasis and PW buys a lot of books. I don't use the audiobook option and I'm never far from WiFi so it doesn't matter.for me 8gb is enough. If anything.perhaps the signature edition is a good bet if you want extra storage and the other benefits and wireless charging. I think the PW is so, so good, it's hard to recommend the oasis at full price. It's not as premium as the oasis on the back. The screen size is practically identical. The price is phenomenal for the basic model and the reading experience is top notch. I could go round in circles why one is better than the other. I blame my hands, not the is slippy though.but the Paperwhite feels easier to hold onto. I have to use a popsocket as I keep letting it drop. I like the offset of the Oasis, but I don't like it in a case. The basic PW misses out on auto dim lighting but it's not something I notice. ![]() They are to all extents and purposes the same screenwise. Still think I prefer the buttons of the Oasis. However when reading I don't notice any fingerprints. I'm a bit of a clean freak so I have to keep cleaning the Paperwhite. People will mention different amounts of lights on the device. ![]() The reading experience is the same for me. I recently lost my Oasis 3 and missed black Friday sales.I couldn't justify buying another at full price, so I purchased the new Paperwhite 8gb. Would anyone with experience of one or the other possibly be able to explain which they prefer and why please? I should add, I'm drawn towards the Oasis due to the bigger screen and physical buttons, and uncertainty over when an updated model might come out, but the Paperwhite is newer and I'm not sure if it has more updated technology built in that push it over the edge.Įdit: Please consider this purely on merit assume cost is no issue. I'm thinking of getting one of the Oasis or new Paperwhite as a flashy Christmas toy, but can't for the life of me differentiate between which I'd prefer. I'm a big fan of reading (fantasy mainly) and have a 2015 paperwhite that, while still working, is starting to feel a bit old and outdated compared to the new kindles. I know this has been asked a few times before, but it never seems to lead to even close to a consensus and the information in some threads can be quite overwhelming.
